The RIO LARGO Tree to Table Experience Harvest 2023 Celebration

We just wanted to thank you all for making our Tree to Table Experience such a celebration!

What an honour to have you all with us to share what we do. 

June 27th 2023 will mark 13 years for us at RIO LARGO, and what a journey it has been!

We have learned so much along the way…

processing techniques (which Nick has clearly mastered with his consistent awards every year! ) media, printing, packaging, distribution… and SO much more! 

We have had such fun with our packaging which not only is a fabulous item on the kitchen counter but really does ensure that great RIO LARGO quality till the last drop.

We loved being able to share a small part of our journey with you and cannot thank all the folk that contributed enough! It really was a team effort.

The kitchen team from JOHN JOSEPH will be a food experience few of us will ever forget… that kitchen was really hot! 

We can tell you honestly that Johnny pulled out every stop for us…and added so much to our menu wanting nothing more than to see us all well-fed! We loved it that Johnny embraced the finale of lemon olive oil salt and his handmade gelato for us too.

Sam was a delight serving us great cappuccino all day. Sam lives in Worcester and would love a full-time position if anyone might be able to help.

Andrea and her team created those incredible baskets on the tables. To think that those baskets were made using dodder which is a weed and handwoven. They can be used for eggs or other plants too.! Thank you, Andrea! You made many Mums very happy.

I am sure many of you realize just how lucky we are to have such amazing products in our neighborhood.

ORYX Olives… honestly made with love and are the best in town.

SIX DOGS Gin… whilst not quite gin weather this weekend, it was still easy enough to enjoy one of South Africa’s top brands, passionately crafted one batch at a time! They are open for tastings too but call first. 

Thank goodness for Alvi who kept dashing to his cellar down our road to replenish the red wine. I think the next visit will have to be to their tasting room-just call to make an appointment. 

Another passionate producer- in our valley!!

We also loved having beer on tap- imagine! Makes a difference from that olive oil on tap! 😜

I have to say that Stellenbrau could not have been more professional in dealing with us. They are not from the valley but are a fabulous addition to the day. 

Zikhona and ourselves go back many years and we have loved sharing her journey with her. And what an advert Zik is for her products!!

I am sure many of you will find out that once you use Zik’s products you can never go back to using commercial products again!

And to Forest! We could not have a day like this without the music that started this journey with us too. 

Sorry if it was tricky to chat at times… but I did notice a few of you thought to hell with the chat and danced on the lawn… thank you Forest for sharing the music! 

It was very special to have so many of you with us that honestly have been part of our success. Shannon, our designer,  was quite overwhelmed when she walked into our shed and saw all her designs in one place! It was lovely to see her reaction. To Elzanne who has taken on our social media and is just so wonderful to work with! 

Nothing is too much trouble. 

To each and every one of you that support us – thank you. 

I love too that so many of you feel comfortable enough to help us during the day! It did not go unnoticed! Thank you so much!
