Physical Health Drive at RIO LARGO

At RIO LARGO OLIVE ESTATE, Social Economic Development (SED) is not just a “buzz” word; it’s a fundamental part of our ethos. We DARE to CARE! We believe in fostering employee wellbeing across all dimensions—mental, physical, emotional, and economic. Our commitment goes beyond words; it’s reflected in our workplace culture, which prioritises wellbeing through positive relationships, ample resources, and thoughtful decision-making. By promoting a positive culture with clear tasks, motivation, and benefits such as financial support, health aids, and work-life balance measures, we aim to enhance the overall wellbeing of our employees.

After a comprehensive analysis, we launched our SED goals for 2024, focusing on six key pillars: EDUCATION, PHYSICAL HEALTH, MENTAL HEALTH, SPORT, NUTRITION, and SPIRITUAL WELLBEING. Each month, we concentrate on a specific pillar to ensure comprehensive support for our team.

In April, we focused on PHYSICAL HEALTH. All our employees had the opportunity to have their eyes screened, and we subsidised the cost of glasses for those who needed them. Health, as defined by the World Health Organization, is “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” By promoting good eye and vision health, we can help reduce health disparities and positively influence broader social issues, including poverty, health inequities, increased healthcare costs, and preventable mortality and morbidity.
